THENEWMYTHOLOGY.NET is an epic poem based on the Wikipedia article for Dante’s Inferno, as well as several Buddhist articles and articles based around the topic of each section of the poem. Instagram photos, found by searching hashtags with the title of each section of the poem, illustrate each section of the poem.

#THENEWMYTHOLOGY was the first temple of THENEWMYTHOLOGY, taking inspiration from Dante’s Purgatorio, Buddhist traditions and Kanye West’s Yeezus Tour show. It featured four Instagram mandalas, a Vine mandala, a two-way mirrored, rotating obelisk, and a wooden pyramid with stairs leading to a computer and a Kinect. The Kinect scanned the face of those that ascended the stairs, replacing it with a rotation of Instagram harvested selfies on the computer screen.
